Synthetic Faux Leather Cell Phone Cases - Saving Animals!
According to PETA.org, over a billion animals are slaughtered for the production of leather products every year. Not only are they killed for the sake of fashion, they are often treated cruelly beforehand. Cattle are deprived of food and water, shoved into tiny spaces, and suffer branding, castration, tail-docking, and de-horning. Although leather is primarily made from the skin of cattle and calves, other animals can be used for that purpose as well. Pigs, deer, horses, sheep, lambs, and goats are often used for their skin. Extraordinary cruel methods are often used to ensure the "finest" quality of leather is produced from these skins. Lizards and snakes are skinned alive, as to ensure the leather is "supple." Kangaroos are decapitated. Baby goats are boiled alive. In India, cows are crammed into trucks and shuttled to slaughter houses, where their feet are tied together before their throats are cut (PETA.org). It's a harsh reality.
